Ce roman surprenant (et c'est un euphémisme) de Ian McEwan décrit un ménage à trois où le troisième est un androïde. L'histoire se déroule dans une Angleterre "alternative" des années 80 où Alan Turing, John Lennon et J. Kennedy sont encore en vie et où le Royaume-Uni a perdu la guerre des Malouines. A l'heure où tout le monde parle d'intelligence artificielle, ce livre soulève des questions existentielles : et si un jour un robot avait une conscience, des sentiments et sa propre conception du bien et du mal, de la justice et de l'injustice ? Texte parfois déroutant qui confirme les grandes qualités de Ian McEwan. Un (très) bon niveau d'anglais est nécessaire.
